I liked the movie but the emotional manipulation stuff at the end seemed to fall flat with me.

1. I didn't love that movie. I found it hard to relate to the characters.

3. I loved the fisrt half but then instead of a black comedy it got a strange
Grumpy Old Men vibe that simply didn't fit the film.

4. Not so much trite and cute as really really depressing.

5. I thought the characters stayed true to their nature in the end and,
as depressing as that was, it would have been more trite and manipulative to have the stereotypical happy Hollywood ending.

I initially liked the Alex character, seeing her as an independent woman who lived life on her own terms and generally won. But I became angry and disgusted when the truth of her situation came out. And I don't want to reveal too much more because of the spoiler effect.

6. Yeah that was actually a nice reveal... I liked the movie overall I just wish it could
have kept the nice tone it had the first hour or so.

7. I liked it a lot.
Thought Clooney was very good. And I like that he turned out to be nothing more than a totally shallow character in the end.

8. I dunno.......
He took his risk, went out on a limb, and got burned. He went back to his shallow life because he still could.

9. I got the impression his shallow life had crashed and burned as well.
The movie certainly didn't end with a good idea what was going through Clooney's mind. (Not that leaving it "Up in the Air" is necessarily a bad thing mind you)
