I remember streetfights...in the eighties, and it was lots of fun for all!!!
we even had our own patch on the street...an eldelry ladies property who owned a Husky and a Doberman...but her lawn, for some reason was where everyone fought...and suffered, and it was good

Before these streetfights, however..you had to "call" someone out, so everyone else would basically accept the offer and go watch the fight, just show up to see it...oh, it was tons'o'fun it was the neighborhood kids and their families just watching this ( entertainment )

So, we would be there punching each other, and trying to gouge each others eyes out and going for shots to the balls, kicks to the head, whatever it took...those were some fun times and I won some and lost some...but the ones I lost knew better than to fuck with me again...melee combat...all that shit. Someone would beat the hell out of the other kid and the neighborhood just stood around and watched like it was a normal boxing match...it was like Christmas in July, kind of sick, Parkwood Manor, but I digress

Do you kids today know any fucking thing about this shit? for all the internet threats, beat-downs, and other postings meant to do physical harm to others, has anyone actually EVER approached you and offered to throw down? These days ( these times, I must say ) are so fucking silly...because apparently, someone can be threatened over an internet posting on some computer and chances are nothing ever comes of it and I have had it happen to me and nothing ever came of it

THIS IS EDISON CARTER AND WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY PEOPLE ARE SO AFRAID OF TYPE ON THEIR COMPUTERS, AND IF THEY ARE, WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE WHO CAN BRING HARM TO THEM? THIS IS EDISON CARTER AND I'M LOOKING FOR SOME ANSWERS

3. I remember schoolyard swarms--it was like a hive mind took over and even
if you didn't know who was fighting, you saw people running and got your run on, too to see if you could catch a glimpse of it. We had people in my junior high pulling icepicks and whatnot on each other. And watching it was a casual and even pleasant activity.

"You know them?"

"I think I know that one guy, but I don't know that other guy. You?"

"Naw, damn! That would hurt."

"No shit."

And then a guidance counselor and an aide or a security guy would wade in. But it was just a regular thing that happened in school. We'd talk about it later like "I saw where his shirt was all bloody" or "Did you see the guidance counselor tackle that one kid?" We didn't have metal detectors yet and half the people I knew in HS at least had pocket knives or mace in case they had to show up for a beating. And I went to a pretty decent HS. I never had to throw hands myself but being a girl I did get shots to my reputation by way of rumors and probably in one instance might have benefited from kicking someone's ass--but I was taught self-defense more than ass-kicking, so it never occurred to my mind like I should get shit over with by burying somebody.

There was one girl I could have. But I let her go because I had a circle of different friends and she couldn't bother me, anyway. It wasn't worth catching detention over.

I don't know any teens well enough to ask if they still "rumble" as we did in days of yore.

4. That was pretty much Catholic grade school for me right there
then again, there were rumors ( all they were, never proven ) that some of the students were screwing some of the teachers there, and I believe these rumors, just by watching the interaction between these particular students and teachers, some really nasty shit happened, and there was a lot ( I mean a LOT, property-wise ) not far behind the school where really weird shit happened, and this place looked like a spooky kind of castle...I tried to research it, but to no avail...no hits .It was actually an abandoned mansion ( visible from the playground ) where some people did some weird satanic rituals there...I snooped around with two friends and we saw dead animals hanging from the ceiling...dogs, cats, raccoons ( true, I think someone was doing some kind of rituals here ) , whatever that bled. That place was evil and scary and someone eventually burned it down...now it's just an empty field, but I remember going outside at recess and the kids would just stare at this place, almost transfixed

I still remember walking through that place, still creeps me out, and when I had a car ( back in 2005 ) I took a trip back to the back of my elementary school...the field is there, but I swear there is something not right about that property, and I still see that mansion there, I still see it!

I really got off track here..didn't I? I'm sorry about that...schoolyard bullies always swarmed the weaker, quieter kid..that's just the way it was, I suppose
