Poll question: Time for me to catch up on my summer movies - recommendations?
My wife & daughter are away for a few days, so it's time for me to catch up on my summer movie viewing, as I've seen nothing yet.

I hope to see one tonight and one tomorrow night.

1. "A-Team" did not suck nearly as bad as I thought it would
If you turn off the logic/plot center of your brain and go for the ride it's pretty fun. So I recommend that one.

Toy Story 3 - excellent. Those are the only two I've seen. The pickins are very slim for my taste.

2. I'd say you should go see Get Him to the Greek.
I've seen everything on your list except Jonah Hex and The Karate Kid, and I'm seeing The Karate Kid today. Clash of the Titans was entertaining for the look at Greek mythology it offers, Iron Man 2 was a blast, the A-Team was fun but sometimes incoherent...

But if I had to pick I'd say Get Him to the Greek. Funniest movie I've seen since The Hangover!

4. Go see Jonah Hex if only to see the last of Megan Fox in the theaters
Edited on Tue Jun-22-10 10:06 AM by LynneSin
I think she's on the way to obscurity after the horrid reviews she got for Jonah Hex. Plus walking out on Transformer 3 ain't helping either.

8. Not to mention turning down Wonder Woman
Didn't Fox say something about how WW only flew around in an invisible jet and didn't do anything?

Nice to look at, but has not made great decisions in terms of her roles.

7. I saw Jonah Hex last night.
Megan Fox has about twice the face time in the movie as she has in the commercials. Nice to see her without all the face paint (which is weird, considering she's playing an Old West hooker), but the corset cranked all the way down to 18 was kinda off-putting.

Anyway, Get Him To The Greek was funny. Clash Of The Titans had a lot of pretty pictures.

10. No choice on my end
Work has been a bit crazy and my wife & daughter really didn't want to see Iron Man 2.

15. The movie didn't live up to the first movie's standards
But it was an enjoyable escapist flick, it had the humor you would expect from Tony Stark, and the explosions you would expect. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure you stay through the end credits, just like the first movie, there's a teaser.

16. Toy Story 3 has been my favorite so far, except maybe "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."
However, do not consider taking your kid to see the Dragon Tattoo.
