This is a little early, and I'm working on a short article, but I want to remind everyone that May 18 is coming up.

What's the big deal?

It's 30 years since May 18, 1980.

On that day, Ian Curtis took his own life.

At the age of 23, Curtis had already written some of the most darkly poetic lyrics popular music has ever heard. One can only be ponder what other works of art he might have produced had the black dog of depression not run him down far too soon.

Suicide isn't funny. Neither is depression. It shatters lives and denies dreams. Let's try and show some compassion for those who have struggled and are struggling with emotional darkness.
