Cyrus admits picking her roles carefully though, so not to alienate the younger fans who know her from Disney's hit Hannah Montana series.

"The next film I'm doing is a French film called LOL... It's Demi Moore and I - it's really edgy...

"But I'll also do a fun film afterwards for all my fans, but if a cool film comes up that may seem a little old for my normal fans then I'm not going to pass it up."

The multi-talented star's transition from a teen idol looks inevitable and she even told Newsbeat she wouldn't rule out doing nude scenes if the role was right. "It depends what the film is," she said.

"If it's something that's classy - it just depends on the circumstances."

1. The Anne Hathaway plan.
I'm not sure Miley can pull it off but I'm sure some horny dads will be glad to buy one of her movies this time.

7. Sounds like she's willing to pull it off. Best she leave the singing stuff to Susan Boyle and Sade.

In 5 years she'll probably be toted off to rehab.

11. Disney does NOT have a good history of their kid stars growing up normal...
Case in point: Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

17. I doubt she'd turn that role down.
Britney had her wacko period, but she's back on top of the charts. Not many who want to be professional entertainers would turn down that career, even if it meant getting crazy for a while. And three fourths of her meltdown was for publicity anyway. She managed to have her own reality show without actually signing up for one.

I don't think Miley can pull that off. Spears had already turned the sex-kitten corner by her age. Cyrus doesn't have the natural vamp that Britney has, so she's going to have to go a different route to stay in the limelight. On the other hand, her father knows what it's like to be a megastar then have to fight for roles, and she's close to Dolly Parton, too, so unlike Britney, she's got a guidance system she can use. So who knows? She may be the next Jodi Foster or Drew Barrymore, for all we know.

25. I don't think....
that "three fourths of (Britney's) meltdown was for publicity anyway." I think it was mental illness.

Miley Cyrus has a completely different career. Britney didn't become famous because of Disney. She was in the Mickey Mouse Club when she was 11. She achieved her worldwide success and fame when she was 16. Disney had very little do to with her successful music career...it was simply a past job.

Miley's success, on the other hand, is almost completely tied to Hannah Montana. It's still unknown if she can move beyond Disney. I think her Disney show is suppose to end soon. The last successful Disney star, Hilary Duff, faded after her Disney show ended. We'll see if Miley will be able to build a career post-Disney.

27. She seems to have her head screwed on better than the average kid star.
One of the biggest problems for child actors is that they get thrown in alone into the world of show business and all its sleazeball tangents at a very young age with no guidance. Her father, whatever you wanna say about his musical skills (or acting skills or facial hair), is very much involved in guiding her career. I'd put good money, right now, on her going along more of the Brooke Shields route rather than the Todd Bridges Highway.

28. Yes, the young lady has some perspective
I saw her interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel. No dummy, very self-aware, not likely to be a celebrity train wreck. And before anyone judges ol' Billy Ray too harshly, they should see the documentaries he narrated for the History Channel (Hillbillies"?)

Meaning they can take out the arms in post. CGI, piece of cake.

But Miley Cyrus looks like someone hit her in the face with a frying pan. Flat and sorta awkward looking. But I guess the young teen boys and the pervs like her look.

32. fwiw, I am one of those rare Americans who does not think nudity in movies is inherently not classy
I'm no fan of hers by any means, and even less of her father, but I don't think there's anything wrong with nudity per se, and someone being naked is not instantly unclassy.
