I saw the movie "Afghan Star" last night. We need to pull out of there!

While I felt sorry for the female singers, and the plight of women in general in that country, it reinforced my belief that we need to exit there. One singer was denounced all over the country for baring her head and dancing on the show. One man said she should be killed for doing it. It appeared that Kabul was somewhat democratic, but the rest of the country was perfectly happy with Islamic law. Let them solve their own problems.

Good movie, by the way. It's a documentary about an "American Idol" type show in Afghanistan.
