Bailey's health has deteriorated quickly in the last few months. He's also been having trouble eating for two weeks. Last night the vet discovered a tumour in his stomach.

He's been a part of my life for at least 15 years...he would come to work everyday and hang out. He's my handsome lad.

Right now he's sleeping on the couch in my mum's office. I wish I had a picture of him to post -- he's a German Shorthaired Pointer.

It's hard to write this...thanks for listening.

1. my dear gizmonic...
Ah, sweetie...

I'm so sorry to hear this...

It's tough, not only because he's dying, but now you have a whole day to anticipate the loss and wonder how you'll cope...

You'll see him everywhere, even after he's gone and it'll break your heart over and over...

But time will heal you, and then those memories will make you smile. Eventually...

Cry your tears, grieve your loss...

I've got your back.

The best thing we can do for our furry friends: to help them die when their lives are no longer worth living.

5. I'm so sorry, gizmonic
You are doing the right thing, and his passing will be peaceful.

Love him up as much as you can until Thursday, and be with him to see him through. You will be happy you did.

I lost my dog of over 13 years a few months ago.

Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you.....
I loved you so --

We went through that one year ago
with one of the brother cats we have.
(renal failure)

It is so hard to go through!
