1. Funny...
I would find it interesting if someone made a plot of the number of tweets/posts surrounding the epicenter, 'cause I could see a donut ring happening based on the fact that people close in are scared shitless, and people far away didn't feel it enough to be alarmed, but people who felt it and weren't scared were like "XOMG! I'm going to go tweet about it!"

2. Just give him the idea ...

This sounds like the kind of thing Randall (the guy who does the comic) would do in a moment of boredom. He's done crazier things actually. :)

3. This is so funny. Got an e-mail from SIL about the Mexicali quake
which they felt in Southern California. Big deal.

4. It reminds me of what happens during tornado season ...

A few years back there was a tornado that went through about half a mile from my apartment. I, being sane, was in a sheltered area.

When it passed, I came out and saw all these messages in my e-mail, on Facebook, and, yes, right here at DU who seemed confused by the idea that people *in* the storm weren't paying attention to their electronic gizmos.

People are funny.
