I feel like a bad person/family member
Got home from work today to find a connector had burst on the water pipe into the house. Shut off the valve and now have no plumbing until I can call a plumber tomorrow.

I was supposed to go to Easter dinner with my family, but blew it off after this. Made up the excuse I was sick with a headache on top of the annoyance of the plumbing problem. My mother called just as they were leaving for the restaurant, asking me to please come. This is the one time of the year my family goes out for something.

I just feel like a piece of crap now.

1. No, that's a lot to have to deal with
Sometimes you just have too much to deal with. I know that feeling. And you can't take a shower and it would be harder to go out because of all that.

2. something like that can take a toll on you
I had a plumbing issue on Wednesday afternoon. Didn't get fixed til Thursday and for some reason I just felt like staying home and vegging. It was a pain and inconvenience.

Thank goodness I had the money for a plumber cuz it was not cheap.

3. Hey! This is especially true...
.
...when it involves plumbing -- SHIT HAPPENS!!
.
Relax. You're the best one to know when it's time to just kick back
and heal up from life, stress, etc.
.
They/you will certainly survive this. At least, you all should.

4. that you are uneasy about this
shows you are a pretty good family member. most people wouldn't give it a second thought. it's just a little thing.

if it still bugs you take your mother out for a meal or something as recompense.
