"hoid it through the grapevine"

just love everything about it

whatever swirly effect they have on the bass guitar, and the vocal, and the meandering solo bit, and oh yeah the DRUMS there are the best bit, a sort of pounding ritualistic thump thing. The bits where it goes all thuddy over the riff in between verses

10. Glad you liked it. CCR had a real knack...
for taking good tunes and making them their own. Case in point:

Suzie Q

Dale Hawkins' 1956 tune was covered competently by many artists, but CCR's version is hands down my favorite. RIP Dale (1936-2010).

14. Z.Z. Top's "LaGrange"
Ok so it technically isn't a cover but in reality, it's "Boogie Chillen" by the Boogie man himself, Mr. John Lee Hooker.

15. The Knack - A Hard Day's Night
If you're going to be accused of "trying to be The Beatles", why the Hell not do a Beatles cover?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQ-GHxulq_E

From their legendary Carnegie Hall performance, which still has not been released on DVD, BluRay, or any other 21st century format.

R.I.P. Doug Fieger & Bruce Gary :(
