discovering that a dear old friend is now a conservative, then realizing they were all along, you just never had a reason to discuss it.

any show whose title starts with "the real housewives of....."

thinking everything is fine, at work for example, then discovering people have a problem with something you've done.

the ubiquitous use of the "auto-tune" effect in popular music.

Golden Grain stopped making their macaroni and cheddar dinner.

Movies that are time compressed for TV, and you can actually see the film move faster and slower from scene to scene.
