First, The Specials and now this.

After a nearly 17 year hiatus, Public Image Ltd played seven critically acclaimed shows in the UK last December. Hoping to reprise such success, the band will be touring the United States beginning with an appearance at Cochella on Friday, April 16th in Indo, CA.

The brainchild of John (Johnny Rotten) Lydon, PiL were birthed after the Sex Pistols breakup in 1978 and got their first big break on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. Since then, the band has been fusing Rock, Dance, Folk, Ballet, Pop and Dub, creating some of the most interesting and influential music of the 70’s and 80’s.

Orignal PiL memeber and former Clash guitarist, Keith Levene, will not be apart of the reunion, nor will Jah Wobble. Instead, the tour will feature Lydon, drummer Bruce Smith (The Pop Group/ The Slits), multi-instrumentalist Lu Edwards (The Damned), and bass player Scott Firth.

C'mon, Elfman, make it a perfect tri-fecta.

1. I'd love to see the Specials.
I'm more than a little jealous of you going to that concert. I don't suppose they are playing anywhere else but So Cal?

2. NYC the next week.
Or so I've read.

I'll take a show in LA over a show in NYC any day.
