Our county school system is broke.
The tax income is WAY down due to the real estate market bust, job market bust, etc., etc.
They've laid off all support jobs and are not renewing contracts for many teachers.
Volunteers are sweeping halls and cleaning toilets.
Miz t. and I are volunteering as a teacher's assistants with a kindergarten class.

Sunday I MARCHED (for the very first time, any time, any where) in a rally supporting a one cent sales tax to help keep our schools operating.

One TV station said "hundreds", another said "thousands" turned out.
I think it was closer to thousands. The march was at least 4 blocks long with high school bands, floats, etc.

In this clip look on the right side of the screen at 27 seconds. I'm wearing a dark blue shirt and dark blue baseball cap.
There's a friend in a white T shirt to my right who comes in frame first.
I'm on for about 1.5 seconds.
