Open letter to NBC
I am writing to complain about NBC's Winter Olympics coverage. You decided to show a lousy, piece of sentimental crap with Tom Brokaw for nearly an hour, while there was live competition going on in speed skating. But of course you posted the results on your website. I am beyond pissed off at this and sincerely hope someone else does the Olympics next time because you suck. This is almost as egregious as dumping Conan, almost but not quite. You can rest assured that I will never knowing watch anything on NBC if I can possibly help it.

I sent this, I doubt it will make a difference.

1. I, too, have sent a message to NBC.
Dear Fuckwits -

I am writing to protest the cancellation of "Hello, Larry" starring McLean Stevenson. Never in the history of TV has anyone portrayed a character named "Larry" with the skill as evidenced by Mr. Stevenson.

"Hello, Larry" was shot down over the Sea of Japan. It spun in. There were no survivors.

4. McLean Stevenson lives on in Match Game reruns
And that other show, of course. What was it called again...?

2. They should save that crap
and either use it in the run-up to the games or as a post-games recap.

At least they showed lots of live hockey and curling on their cable channels. Of course, the only reason they did that is because those sports are not particularly commercial friendly. They prefer three minute events interlaced with three minute commercials.

Would it be too much to ask for a closing ceremony sans the inane commentary? Where we could just listen to arena PA and music? Perhaps a simulcast on one of their cable channels or even a webcast?

5. Dear NBC
I purchased several of your hazmat suits (model CRM-114) with the understanding that they were effective against nuclear, biological, and chemical agents. Imagine my surprisem while working in our viral containment lab, to discover that Dr. Roquefort had quite noticeably broken wind. Bad enough that I had to hear it, but soon thereafter the evidence intruded upon another of my senses, thereby clearly demonstrating that the CRM-114 suits do not function as advertised.

I would like to request a refund in the amount of the purchase plus shipping. You may feel free to take your time in reimbursing us, because Dr. Roquefort and I are spending a few weeks in quarantine.

Sincerely yours,

A Disgruntled Purchaser
