Poll question: Xbox 360 or PS3?
Thinking of getting a gaming system. What should I get?

1. I have a PS3
and am very happy with it. I would strongly suggest you have a 1080p TV for gaming as well. Check out the gaming forum for my reviews of selected games and demos :D

2. The one that supports the most games you like
I don't know much about PS3s.

One thing I like about Xbox is that it lets you connect your computer to your home entertainment system.

You can bore the hell out of your friends with slide shows of your digital pics.

And make really indulgent playlists for your music collection.

It also acts as a DVR and lets you watch Hulu on your TV.

3. You can stream Netflix on Xbox, too.
However, the PS3 is a Blu-ray player.

The Xbox integration with your home PC is pretty slick. Until the Xbox 360, we were always a Playstation household.

10. You can do all that with a PS3. I didn't know you could do it with a XBox.
:)

4. I just upgraded to a PS3
I had a PS2 going on 10+ years and finally upgraded to the PS3 last week.

I know that one of the things I had to consider was my large DVD collection. I originally thought that the PS3 only plays Blu-Ray, but I can play my DVDs on it too.

My brother has the Xbox 360, so I've played both systems and both have great graphics. The biggest selling point for the PS3 is that it's online capabilities are all free whereas you have to pay for Xbox live. A lot of games are made for both systems, but some aren't. Halo is only made for Xbox and MLB The Show is only made for PS3, etc.

5. I've always hated the PS controllers
The XBox controllers are so much better.

But, the Nintendo Wii kicks both of their asses.

6. Nintento Wii.
To me, it's more fun, plus the controls are more intuitive and great for casual gaming, which is what we're into.

8. I got the PS3 because I love baseball video games and MLB: The Show is exclusive
But now that Mass Effect 2 is out I really wish I had a 360.

Any serious gamer is probably going to need to get both.

9. PS3 does more, XBox might have more games specific to it.
I've got a PS3. It has a built-in Blu-Ray player, a browser, and a lot of features that can make it a home entertainment system. You can watch movies from Netflix streaming over it, or buy them from Sony's own movie store. You can network it to your computer and play your own videos and music through it from your computer files.

You can also download games, play them online, and buy a whole lot of other games for it. There are a lot of free games online, and some games, like Little Big Planet (which you can only get for PS3), let users create their own levels and post them on the system, so you can play endless levels. A lot of that is true of XBox, too, of course.

Also, the controllers for PS3 are motion sensitive, so in theory they can make games similar to the Wii games for them, although they haven't done much with that so far.

A lot of that is probably true of XBox, too, especially the online gaming stuff. XBox doesn't have a Blu-Ray player. I don't know about its online or entertainment capabilities. The only times I wish I had an XBox is when I'm staring at the game aisle. PS3 has a lot of games, but the XBox aisle to me always looks like more fun.

Of course, you could always buy a gaming computer with an HDMI output and connect your TV as a monitor. Probably more expensive, though. :)

12. It really depends upon what games you prefer...we have all the systems.
Our oldest ds bought himself a PS3 and said he still prefers the XBox online play, however. The XBOX 360 of course has a very high rate of malfunction because of overheating so take that into consideration. We've had to return ours twice already.

Go into a GameStop and see what they have to off WRT games/used games to make your choice. the blu-ray play in the PS3 is nice, and no paying for online play although most of their games are 1st person there are some good multi-online player. PS3 doesn't overheat as much and Netflix has released a disc to allow it to stream Netflix. Ds prefers PS3's browser to XBox 360's.

14. I have both. I don't play PS3 much.
To be fair, I don't play many video games much. I only have a select few games I like: College football, Grand Theft Auto games and zombie games.

16. PS3 because the exclusive games (especially the online ones) are just BETTER.
I love my XBox 360 too, but lately the PS3 has just had more cool stuff going for it.

17. PS3 has it all over the 360.
More power, blu-ray player with upconvert for regular dvds, better online system and better exclusive games.
