Many years ago, someone poisoned my dog Bing.
Just now as I was throwing an empty jar of mustard out,the memory came back.
I was 15 years old. Bing came home and he was crying. He ran down stairs. He stretched out his legs and arched his back, all the while crying.
Someone had been poisoning dogs,so mom knew what it was.
She mixed up mustard and milk in a glass, she'd heard this causes them to throw up.
His head was pointing straight up and he was stiff as a board, and mom said it was too late. So we watched him die a horrible death.
There was mustard everywhere.
His buddy Goldie, our neighbours dog died that day, too.
Funny what triggers a memory.
Hitting "post message" is gonna be hard. Wonder if I can do it?

3.
that was so wrong. 15 years..

Always remember that the 15 good years mean a million times more than the horrible way he was killed.

4. I am so sorry!...
 I had a neighbor in Ft. Collins that kept antifreeze out for cats. He killed a kitten I had at the time. WTF is wrong with people!

6. I can relate.
We had a beautiful Norwegian Elkhound poisoned by the mentally ill son of the neighbor behind us. His name was Gusto (short for King Gustav of Freya) and no matter how big he was he truly felt he was a lap dog. I was away at college, my freshman year, but I was devastated. So senseless.

8. me too.
8 yrs ago, a reichwing neighbor poisoned our border collie. We got her to her vet in time to save her life (@ a cost of $900.) This same neighbor also torn down any dem candidate's sign we put on our property next to our mail box.

 to anyone who has gone through this awful, awful grief.

10. special place in hell
for the person who poisoned Bing. Funny sometimes what triggers memories. Whenever I hear Hey Jude by the Beatles it brings me back to Utica NY in 1968 and my dog Tramp.

11. Wow, I'm so sorry that happened to you.
We had to put our dog down last July and that was hard enough, I can't imagine what I would done if her death had come without any warning. What kind of person just poisons neighborhood dogs? Did anybody ever find out who was doing it? Or have an idea of who was?

12. That's sad

Some people are so cruel. Someone put pieces of glass in meat and gave to my little brother's dog many years ago. It was horrible.

For Bing and Goldie :grouphug:

13. I'm so sorry beyond words Swwede
You have my deepest sympathies. No one should ever have to go through something like that I really have no words to convey how sad I am about this

Same to the other people on this thread who have been through this:hug:  My cousin's wife lost her dog this way -some robbers broke into the house and fed her dog poisoned meat.

The evil people who do such things -I believe karma is waiting for them

It would be so scary knowing someone that crazy was in your neighborhood.

15. Oh, the poor dear.
How people can do that is beyond me.
Your mother was an angel to try to help though.

I am sure that Bing had years of fun and love from your family and the horrible time was short and you were with him. I know that does not change anything but sometimes it is helpful to rehabilitate some memories if we can.
