On the news in Houston last night, 49% of Houstonians polled think Bush ignored key intelligence and allowed 9/11 to happen, and 11% didn't know. And Houston is solid Bush territory.

I wonder what the national average response to that question would be...

1. They're definitely scared
They wouldn't respond so sharply to Clarke's charges unless they though he had some credibility.

2. I was just thinking this morning about that...

Clarke has definitely thrown a monkeywrench into things. I cannot imagine that the Chimpministration would have wanted to be talking about pre-9/11 intel and such at this point in a Presidential campaign.

3. did you see the Daily Show last night?
They showed Rice talking on EVERY single news show. And then they played McClellan's remarks and word-for-word, they were the same talking points that Rice was giving.

As Darryl Dawkins once said "The ship be sinking."

4. I live in Republican heavy Oklahoma...
And many of the people I hear will never vote for Bush again. And a lot of the vets feel like they're being used. They like Kerry because he's not using them or the victims of 9-11 to get elected.

7. I agree TXLib
The fact that the Bush propaganda machine is working overtime and all it can seem to come up with are the same old jingoistic and see-through rhetoric that has been tried time and time again by successive conservative Administrations indicates to me that they are in big trouble

And the fact that their attacks on Kerry are so lame and pathetic indicates to me that they are having a hard time coming up with an effective comeback -I am certainly not underestimating these malevolent and evil cowards. I must concede that they seem to be stumbling and on the defensive much more this year than I had initially predicted.

8. Actually they're getting to the point of desperation.
Read this WP article by Michael Kinsley... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A19165-2004Mar23.html

They're muddying the waters in hopes of tangling up Kerry into a situation where he's defending himself against something he's not guilty of. The article also points out that fewer voters turn out as a response to "negative" campaigning. They must be as desperate as the polls indicate if they figure they have nothing to lose.
