It rained hard here in Upper Michigan yesterday.
Was looking out the window and thinking that I don't ever remember it raining near the end of January.

1. It does that sometimes in the winter.
Sometimes there is thunder and lightning, too. I know it does seem strange.

6. Former Chicagoan here; blizzard of '67 started on Jan. 26th

The Blizzard of '67 proved the wisdom behind the Chicago saying "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute." Only two days before, the temperature had reached a record 65 degrees.




Thought I'd remembered that correctly. I was in high school, and remembered that for two days before this, it had been in the 60's and there were tornado watches, at least, in fact seems to me funnel clouds had been seen. In ( or near) Chicago. In January...

2. Here in New England we were drenched too.
We had flood warnings all over.

It's not uncommon here to have a warm spell with some rain (2 or 3 days)in January or early February.
