A goodbye to Favre in haiku.
Edited on Sun Jan-24-10 09:39 PM by Catshrink
This might be premature but the way the Vikings are fumbling around on the field, probably not. Let's post haikus to tell him goodbye -- the retirement drama is about to begin again.

Rest your mighty arm
On your Mississippi farm
Permanently please.

But are we really up for 6+ months of "will Brett retire" or "will Brett unretire?"

14. Oh the Vikes will get the stadium financed by the taxpayers; just not until the last minute
or nearly so. The welfare for the wealthy crowd will put on the pressure the closer we get to the end of the lease. No way the Vikings leave. If this were about the same time the Lakers were taken away I'd not be so sure, but now? I'd say the Jacksonville team would be a bigger target for Los Angeles.

But I could not believe all the turnovers. That's what cost the game right there. If Favre does not come back I could see some major draft moves in April either trading for someone like McNabb or trading up to get someone like McCoy as a rookie. No way they sit pat with Rosenfels or Jackson.

Hey Packers Traitor,
Remember T. J. Rubley?
Pick cost field goal chance.

In 1995, at Minnesota, with the game tied at 24-24, Packers third string quarterback, T.J. Rubley, inserted after Favre and Detmer were injured, faced a third and one with seconds left, but they were already within field goal range. Rubley audibled out of a run, rolled out and threw a pick, which lead to a Viking victory.

Favre's interceptions also cost the Packers playoff games against the Cowboys, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and most recently, the Giants.

18.  SPORTS NEWS-2035-Brett Favre, quarterback of the Beaulah, MS "Stars" football team,
set another record as the oldest player ever to hold a football in Mississippi State Leagur team. Favre, who played one play from his motorized wheelchair, fumbled the ball on the snap. He then returned to the training room for oxygen and a massage.
He stated that he will "think about" retirement after the season ends, and assounce his decision in the spring.
