1. Truly the Queen of the blues, (and the king of the blues harmonica)
Never got to see Little Walter; he died when I was 16, but saw Koko many times, and she never failed to deliver a knockout performance.

I have this on my ipod playlist of phenomenal women, along with Irma Thomas, Marcia Ball, Betty LaVette, Mis Francine Reed and a host(ess) of others. Wild women, all.
