macaroni and cheese for Christmas
I always liked the Prairie Home Companion News from Lake Woebegone Thanksgiving episode where the extended family unexpectedly family ends up at Gramma and Grampa's house and the food that is available to be prepared is macaroni and cheese, and so they had a macaroni and cheese Thanksgiving dinner.

And something felt so right about it that the women in the family decided to do the same thing next year.

I haven't been able to persuade anybody else to try it, but here I am, alone for Christmas, snowed in, and I'm going to do it.

2. One of the bars I frequent had a Christmas Party last night...
They put out a spread of free food, and prominently featured was an enormous tray of homemeade macaroni and cheese.

5. My wife is making a batch right now.
It was requested by members of my family for tonights dinner at my sister's house. It is a recipe from my wife's mother who says, the secret is all in finding a good sharp cheddar cheese. Merry Christmas!

6. We're having it as our side dish!
My Dad is 86, and doesn't like very many foods, but loves mac and cheese. So we're having a grocery-store spiral-cut ham, mac-and-cheese, and fresh green beans. It's just be him and me tomorrow, but that's okay.

Just heading out for Christmas Eve with SO's little family (mom and 2 sisters) tonight, so there will be some festivities.

Stay warm and enjoy the quiet!
