The best "The Phantom Menace" review you'll ever see.

Granted, it's almost as long as the movie itself, but something like this needed to be made. Not only is it a fantastic review, but one of the best pieces of performance art ever. Do yourself a favor and set aside some time to watch this.

5. It's totally worth the time.
The guy doing the review sounds like Milton from those old Mike Judge animated sketches. I almost split my sides watching this thing. He sums up all my feelings regarding TPM and so much more.

6. I'd so like to meet the guy who made this.
So many people felt slighted by the botched job Lucas did for TPM, I think that this guy has finally given them a manifesto.

4. The guy who played Darth Maul is featured in Black Belt magazine this month.
Actually, I think it is the February 10 issue, but it just showed up a couple days ago.

9. He also played Toad in the X-Men movie
As a martial artist, there's no question he's talented. But as an actor, he's on par with the little kid who played Darth Vader in Ep 1.

10. I read it a few days ago, but I think he played a character called "Snake Eyes", too.
There's a cute anecdote in the article about him wanting to learn to be a ninja and ordering "smoke bombs" thinking they would let him disappear in a puff of smoke. They just fizzled on the ground and his ninja fantasy fizzled with them. He's got a lot of legitimate martial arts training and likes the real stuff like Jackie Chan rather than the fake show-karate stuff.

The magazine is a little heavy on MMA for my tastes. After 14 years of training (Kenpo first, but Tang Soo Do since she was 7), my eldest daughter (2nd degree black) is in a MMA club at college. They're more centered on the practical rather than the "cage fight" show stuff. The WWE-like shit is probably what left the bad taste in my mouth.

8. Hilarious -- except for the bizarre and possibly triggering basement scene at the end of the second
episode. But I agree, the rest of it was HILARIOUS.

11. Yeah, the whole serial-murderer subtext was pretty distasteful...

...I mean, yeah, one throw-away comment would have been funny in a black-comedy sense, but to keep coming back to it over and over was obnoxious.

Otherwise, had some very funny moments.

14. I agree, this was incredibly funny, but that part made me cringe.
The police raid at the end was amusing though.

15. some of it is creepy/funny
but when he gets serious in the later parts, he is spot on. Good commentary for so many modern movies, not just TPM.
