Toeby was out and about doing his thing. I went into the kitchen to turn my lunch (well, lunch for a 3rd shifter).

Toeby decides to come in and check out what I'm doing. I open the oven door, take out my stuff, and flip it over. Go to put it back in and he tries to jump on the oven door! I grabbed his tail and pulled him back and now he's sulking. Apparently he'd prefer the burned toes.

(This is the 2nd cat of mine to have done this. Both look eerily similar. Wonder if it's a breed thing. None of the others ever did it.)

1. Better pissed than burned.

2. See, now that's what I thought...
But considering his attitude I seem to be the only one.

3. He'll forgive you eventually
you might need to coax him out of his mood with some special treats though.

I had a cat that liked to jump into the clothes dryer if somebody opened the door and the clothes were still in the dryer. I went to restart the dryer one day without looking before I shut the door and turned it on...I thought, that is an odd sound, that thumping noise so I went to check and when I opened the door she shot out of that dryer like a rocket and never went near it again.

4. Yeah, I understand...
Because if something ever happened to them we'd never forgive ourselves.

5. Toeby has a right to be pissed off. Here he had found a new warm place to explore....

I love it when I do something to prevent injury and my reward is the cat "glare of death" for the rest of the day.

7. Poor Mama...
Give her a rub for me (after she's done wanting to gnaw your arm off.)

8. I've seen a cat do that.
He didn't stay on the oven door for very long, as I recall.

9. I'm guessing Toeby wouldn't have, too...
But the cries of pain would have freaked me completely and I would hate to see my kitty hurt.
