Anyone have any *connections*?

I'm just looking for a free family cat

I'm ready to suffer the allergies and constant fur on my tongue

1. List where you'd go to pick up your new furry friend
Good luck! I have two cats (but no allergies) and I love them dearly. I think they love me dearly too.

I'll deliver!! I have several that are part Siamese, and cute as they can be! Take two, they're cheap (free)!

edited for my inability to spell after two glasses of wind.

Make that two glasses of WINE.

6. Find a feral colony. Pick up a kitten and run like hell.
Alternatively you can pay a modest fee for a county shelter cat.

8. Go to a vet. Sometimes people advertise there. I got my Monster from a vet. I also adopted out
a cat some idiot handed to me as she was moving out of our building (having not made any plans for what to do with her year old cat since she didn't want it anymore).

9. I'd give you one of mine
but you'd have to travel x-country to get her.

I have three females and one male. Sid is my personal fifth limb, so it would be one of the girls. Still very huggable. :D

10. Too bad you are across country - I was offered a lovely cat I can't take
She is an adult Rag Doll cat - grey tabby point - female, spayed. Totally indoor cat. The one bad thing is that she is declawed - was that way when the people offering her adopted her. Very sweet. But the family has a grandchild moving in with them that is allergic so they have to get rid of the cat.

I can't take her since we have an insane indoor/outdoor cat who would beat her up.

Petfinder.com is supposed to be a good way to find pets. Lots of rescue organizations list there. Craigslist here often has cats "free to a good home", all ages.

11. Check pet stores and the like for fliers
even check craigslist. You can often find free kittens advertised there

12. If you didn't live in California, yeah.
I have a sweet little 14-week-old male tuxedo kitten. But alas, you're too far away. I hope you find a good kitty. :)

13. Click on Petfinder to find an adoptable cat near you... :-)
Edited on Tue Dec-01-09 01:51 AM by Rhiannon12866
http://www.petfinder.com/index.html

Or check at your local PetsMart for adoption clinic hours. At mine, they have adoptable kittens/cats right on the premises. I have a tough time walking out without one, or two, every damn time. ;(

on edit: On second thought, it might be even easier just to check the classifieds in your local paper. It would be remarkable if there wasn't even one ad for a cat or kitten needing "a good home." :-(

Rhiannon :hi:

14. Get a short -hair.

Much better results if you're tired of the whole "hair-tongue" thing.

16. If you're in the Philadelphia area
Edited on Tue Dec-01-09 09:18 AM by meow2u3
Here's where to go. The PSPCA even has and adopt-a-buddy program. Two kitties for the price of one--because 2 cats are better than 1. The adoption fee includes spay or neuter (must be done at the shelter before you can take them home), microchip, and first shots.

17. You must be one them there closet cat-lickers I've done heard about.
Weird fetish you got there.

I am owned by eight kitties and never get a furry tongue, but then again, I'm not some weirdo, either.

Lots of good advice above. Adopt an adult kittie if you would, and give him or her a forever home.

Bast will bless you.
