the gun goes off for the Richmond marathon.
I will be in the back by the trailing police cruiser as is my wont.
I have never been more ready....but.... there is a road of pain, joy, soul searching, commentary with my human condition, pain, joy, angst, clock-watching, and a downhill finish awaiting me.
Running along the river (that is pronounced RIVAH in Richmond) should be quite the site with all the rain we have had. It actually stopped raining this morning but will probably start up again later. It is supposed to be clear but wet and cloudy tomorrow, temp in the mid 40's to 60's later, NNW wind of 10-11 MPH which means the dreaded Lee Bridge ("Lee's revenge") and the Boulevard will be almost directly into the wind.
Loading up on carbs and prednisome today oh and water lots of water.
My wife and Josie will see me at least 4 times on the course which makes it all worthwhile.
