Finally! How to use up the Cranberry Lambic in Sam Adams Winter Classics Mix

I like all the beers in the mix except the Cranberry Lambic. It is gross. I found this recipe for cranberry bread that will use it up. I just wish I could buy the Holiday Porter all by itself. It is an awesome beer!

Cranberry Beer Bread
3 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
0.5 tsp salt
0.5 c sugar
3 tbsp vegetable oil
12 oz cranberry lambic
0.5 c dried cranberries

Preheat oven to 180ºC/350ºF and lightly grease a loaf pan.
In very large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. Stir in cranberries. Make a well in the centre and add vegetable oil and beer. Stir just until no streaks of flour remain. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake 55-60 minutes, until top springs back when lightly pressed. Turn out of the pan and allow to cool on wire rack.

7. I'm not sure of the point of fruity beer.

They're like wine coolers and fruity booze drinks to me. I you want a milk shake, drink a milkshake, if you want a smoothie, get a smoothie. I like my coffee and my booze neat and my beer dark.

Kriek for example.

But I find for the most part that fruit and ale don't mix.

Either you like ciders or you like beer, IMHO.

14. Some fruits are good in stouts...

I have had cherry stouts and raspberry stouts that were delicious. Those two go well in porters, too. It all depends on how hopped they are. Too much bitterness clashes with the fruit.

Don't know why Sam Adams fruit beers have a tendency towards the medicinal, but there you go.

13. That's the only beer they make that I don't like.

I like the Cranberry Wit and the Cherry Wheat. I'd rather drink Dimetapp than the Blackberry Witbeer.

I really liked the bock that was one of the winners, but the wit was meh.

10. The Cranberry Lambic's not bad, but I wouldn't drink it every day.

Goes great with turkey, so if I could find any around here, I'd probably buy some for thanksgiving. But I'd much rather see it in the Holiday pack than any light beer or the ordinary old regular Sam Adams.

15. I tried the recipe...

but I made muffins instead. It's okay, better than dumping the beer down the sink. It made almost 2 dozen regular sized muffins. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. They need a little more cranberries and next time I'll add some orange extract or orange zest. I still have two bottles of the cranberry lambic from last year so there will be more. Or maybe I'll dig out the loaf pan (gotta get a step stool and dig in an upper cabinet).
