Some guy just came by trying to sell me his meat.

He had a truck full of meat. When I answered the door, he said in a fruity voice, "You must be the laaaady of the house?"

"Well," I said with a stony face. "I live here."

He had all kinds of cuts of meat. Fillet Mignon, round steak, strip steak, and even free range chicken breasts.

"I'm really sorry," I finally said. "I'm a graduate student, and I am on a very strict deadline."

Meat man looked sad. He tried to sell me his discounted meat, but I again emphasized that I wasn't interested. "Okay," he said, his feet dragging along my walkway.

Should I have told him that Mr. Writer brought home some beautiful pork shoulders and grass fed beef yesterday, and that Mr. Writer's meat exceeds any other, by far?

Men and their meat. Why do they have to come to my door?

Really? I best had hope they never come here...my new roommate will bankrupt himself for meat delivery. Literally, he'd buy the whole truckload.

5. I have a friend that does that for a living.

Last year he holidayed for a month in Asia. Right now he is spending 3 weeks in New York-Philadelphia going to baseball,football and hockey games. So I think it's a pretty good gig.

All this makes me think of is Tracy Morgan in "Head of State," selling stolen meat.

He had some problem with inter provincial laws with sandwiches being packaged in one province and being sold in another,but that was cleared up. Most of his product is lobster tails,shrimp,crab etc. He makes a ton of cash at itand most of his clients are regular customers.

10. This is no lie...

I was walking down the street out in the city, and a truck pulled over.. guy said..

"Hey do you like Steaks?"

I said, "Sorry, I don't eat meat. "

He replies.."Your loss, I have a ton to sell in the truck, know anyone who eats meat?"

I said, "No sorry.. try Chinatown"

He waved a dismissive wave and drove off...

I thought... "How strange was that? "
