When is Trick or Treat night in your area?
Ours is tonight. Everywhere else I lived we just had it on Halloween, but around here it's different in each community and from year to year. Does anyone else do that, or is it always Halloween Night for you?

1. It's tonight here, too. Here's our giant basin of junk to hand out:
There are ten huge bags of candy in this tub.

5. It's always been on Halloween night
where I live. I wouldn't want it any other way.

13. Well, for one thing no one answers their door.
Seriously, everybody stops at 7 or very shortly thereafter. There used to be school (UNICEF) parties but I think thety no longer have them.
My town is small - @3500. So that is a factor.

14. Yeah but, we get over 300 in that hour
I don't know about your place, rurallib, but on our street, we get over 300 kids in that hour - believe me, it's long enough!

I'm glad they keep it on Halloween, though. I wonder if they'll try to move it next year, since Halloween is a Sunday? I'll have a little talk with the Mayor, if he tries that. :)

15. We used to when the kids were small, but now they all live on
your side of town.
We'll get probably 100 or so.

8. Uh, it's on Halloween. There's no formal schedule.
Generally the little, little kids (toddlers, preschoolers) get taken around as soon as it's getting sort-of-vaguely-darkish, and taken in at full dark. The older kids come out at full dark and go in when the adults get fed up and stop answering the doors.

11. Me too, until I moved to the Midwest.
still seems strange to me. I think it has something to do with Detroit & Devil's Night - and its variations in the area.

18. Halloween night, as late as people will answer their doors.
I trick or treated in heavy snow at least twice in my life, and there were a couple nights when it was really cold other than the snowy nights. The weather isn't really that much of a factor unless there's a TON of snow on the ground.
