1. I have some in my car that smells just like Gin.
I'm afraid if I get pulled over the cop will think I'm drunk.

3. the alcohol is the sanitizer
works fine if you have no access to plain soap (no need for antibacterial soap) and water - which is cheaper and a little easier on the skin.

of course hand lotion works better with water-moistened skin.

4. there is swine flu about
Two people we know of at work have the swine flu and yet are HERE touching things. One of them I like and the other I don't. I'm convinced that the one I don't like has been licking all of our mice just so we all get sick and he doesn't look bad.

Is the plural of computer mouse, mice?

I'm going to spray him with pepper spray the next time he comes by and takes the halloween candy we use to bribe our boss with. Pepper spray kills germs doesn't it? You know this could be a good experiment.

6. I don't think it does, but I shit you not there are at least 50 hand sanitizer stations at work
...and I'm not exaggerating. They are wall mounted and they are everywhere now. There's one at every entrance. There's one every 50' in the hallway. There's one before you go into the stairwell, and one after you get out. There's one outside the bathroom. There's one outside the breakroom. There's not one in my office, but they did give me a 1/2 gallon bottle of hand sanitizer and they told me when I run out of that they will get me another (it's been unused for the past 2 months or so). I kinda wish they were lotion based. That way I could take them home and use them for jerk off or sexual lubricant and at least get some good out of them somehow. As it is now, the alcohol dries out way too fast.

8. Well, I have yet to see anyone actually use the sanitizers
So no, their presence on the wall hasn't prevented anything so far as I can tell.

9. It helps the makers profits and stock values.
Try duct tape and plastic sheeting if you want to protect your health.

So YES using a hand sanitizer AND washing your hands are the two biggest sources of protection. But what the fuck does the CDC (whose recommendation this is) know about disease? :sarcasm:
Lots of Dr. Googles here I see...:banghead:
"Improve hand hygiene

Influenza may be spread via contaminated hands. Instruct employees to wash their hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand cleaner, especially after coughing or sneezing. Place posters in the worksite that encourage hand hygiene.
Provide soap and water and alcohol-based hand sanitizers in the workplace. Ensure that adequate supplies are maintained. If feasible, place hand sanitizers in multiple locations or in conference rooms to encourage hand hygiene.

13. Personal hygiene was and is one of the great advances in health.
Imagine if everyone used hand sanitizer and washed their hands?

15. Protection against what?
The biggest reason why these hand sanitizers are so prolific is because of H1N1 and H1N1 ain't a germ. For the flu, the CDC recommends washing your hands and if you can't wash your hands, then use a hand sanitizer. The problem is, most people who don't wash their hands probably aren't going to use a hand sanitizer either, assuming both are available. Another problem is washing your hands is almost twice as effective as using a hand sanitizer as far as a virus is concerned, so people who opt for a hand sanitizer instead of washing their hands are opting for a less effective method for preventing the disease.

12. ah plastic sheeting and duct tape
I was out of the country when homeland security told we the people to duct tape ourselves into our homes. I was a bit nervous about what I was coming home to but thankfully everyone was ignoring them.

I do wonder how much of the swine flu is really just the flu or a cold but it sounds more dramatic to say swine flu.

14. Read the CDC's website.
Its almost unknown for seasonal flu to be this severe this early...and many people ARE testing positive for H1N1 so we can safely assume that most of these cases are H1N1.
I wish people here would pay more attention to what the CDC says. They DO know their science.

16. but aren't they part of the govt conspiricy to make us all sick?
I can't remember why they want to make us all sick 'cause that might make us want single payer health care even more, but I'm sure there is some conspiracy about all of this somewhere. Probably has to do with fake moon landings or something.

Used it on some old tools and a bike I bought at a yard sale.
