It's an infection, NOT CANCER! Effin' Hoo, effin' RAY!

The surgeon was convinced it was the big ol' C in Mr. Blonde, but it's just an as yet unidentified infection. I am still spinning from the news--unbelievable! He's recovering nicely and looks pretty good, snoozing peacefully (Vicodin-free, I might add, even though he has a RX for it!) in the next room.

Thank you ALL for your prayers good, vibes, good karma, and good thoughts. I KNOW it mattered.

I'm still just a bit stunned--everything indicated that it was cancer and that had spread to the lymph nodes, but it was just an infection. Two lymph nodes had died off and the surgeon removed them as well as the mass.

12. It really seems to be--the doctors (5, count 'em, 5) were

convinced. The surgeon had just the tiniest thought it might be something else, but he was pretty much convinced.

It's just incredible.

Now, if I can just get Mr. B to post HIS experience on the scare-you-to-an unnecessary-death discussion boards! But, (sigh) I doubt he will.

In fact, I just had a mammogram today, but the doctor is pretty certain that my lymph nodes are swollen due to infection (I can hardly lift my right arm). Ugh. Anyway, just so glad things are okay! :hug:

If you think he's going to be in pain when the anesthesia(?) wears off, you might want to get some vicodin in his system beforehand, 'cause sometimes the pain is easier to stay on top of from the get-go than to try to conquer.

I am going through cancer currently. I had my surgery three weeks ago and I am going back to work on Monday. I don't know why I am apprehensive. Anyhow, next stop is radiation. Cancer isn't the death sentence it used to be and my doctors have told I have a great prognosis for a cancer free life after radiation. In fact, this has all turned out to be nothing more than a nuisance for me.

Anyhow, again congratulations and I hope you are feeling better soon.
