So I've been watching the remastered Star Trek episodes...
The visuals sometimes look 'flat', but even then it's what they do with the visuals that make them better than the original f/x.

This must be the first time they went back to the master 35mm negatives for remastering; the show has NEVER looked so clear, with THAT much detail. You can even see the join where Shatner's hairpiece begins!

They overdid the contrasting a tad; some blacks are 'crushed' - subtle darker details don't seem to show up. Then again, I should calibrate my TV and re-check. Either way, it's not major and it beats the snot out of the previous releases, which lack deeper skin tone detail...

Come March, I am so moving to blu-ray...
