What weird things do your fur-friends enjoy eating?

Cider loves canned mushrooms. If we open a can he's on the counter next to the colander waiting to try and snatch one. If we take the mushrooms away before he can get one he will lick the colander.

They had an effect on her like some super catnip. After eating one she would start to do goofy things like trying to stand on her head.

And, not necessarily their own, either. I know several people who have discovered this on accident, after having their cats chew up the ends of used Q-tips.

My dearly departed B.B. loved baked goods. "B.B." is short for "Biscuit Breath", as she ripped into a ziplock back of biscuits a few days after I got her. She did the same on other occasions with other bread products. I couldn't leave pans of muffins to cool on the counter top without her taking bites out of all of them. When I would buy the pre-Lent pazcki jelly donuts, she would insist that I share with her, but she didn't want the filling unless I got them custard-filled. B.B. also loved Italian food. Had I known that, I would have named her "Garfielda", as lasagne was her favorite.

Of my remaining two cats, one loves beans, winter squash and pumpkin. I have considered changing his name to "Squanto." He's also fond of Italian food and raisins, not that he gets the latter. Not good to feed raisins to dogs or cats. The other goes nuts over cantaloupe and honeydew melons.

I got them (the cats) in China where you can buy half a roast duck at the market for like $2.50. I used to pick up some duck on the way home from work all the time and let the cats eat the leftovers and then chase the chopsticks around on the floor.

They also both *love* licking plastic shopping bags. I have no idea where it comes from but they could do it all day. Maybe it's the texture? I got a huge box of Ramen noodles from Costco and one of that cats likes nothing more than to stomp on the bags breaking up all the noodles.

23. I care for my daughters dog weekdays. When I make meatballs for

sauce, I give her one of the cooked meatballs. I learned to make them from my Italian grandma, and put raisins in the meatballs. The dog spits the meatballs on to her plate and picks out the raisins, won't eat them. It is the funniest thing. The first time I saw it I thought it was a fluke but she has done it many times. Stinky used to be our neighbor's cat. His name used to be Remington (our neighbor is a cop).

He was not well treated; harassed by bratty kids. So he spent most of his time in our yard, competing with other neighborhood cats for that territory. You can see how chewed up his ears are...

Stinky would only go home when he had no choice; when the weather was too cold to live outside.

It took a long time for him to feel comfortable enough to step into our house; first he would only go as far as the kitchen door, then he ventured into the kitchen itself, and after several months he finally got enough courage to explore the rest of the house. To this day, however, he is still scared by heavy footsteps; particularly men's.

One fine day our neighbor decided to get a large dog, and there was no longer room for Stinky at his old place. The neighbor was about to take Stinky to the animal shelter, so we asked to keep him instead.

That was almost three years ago.

Frosty Paws Dog Ice Cream

32 oz vanilla yogurt
1 mashed banana or one large jar of banana baby food
2 T. peanut butter
2 T honey

Blend all together and freeze in paper cups. Peel away the cups & place in your pets dish to serve. These can also be made in a non-salt automatic ice cream maker and served like regular ice cream in a dish.

DO NOT freeze in ice cube trays as your dog is likely to eat them so fast he’ll choke!

I hope this doesn't get deleted, it's so sickening but here goes.

My JRT Piglet had that name for a reason. She would eat anything and I mean anything. She managed to survive after eating a whole bag of mini reece's peanut butter cups as a puppy. She regularly got into the garbage can and pulled everything out onto the floor. She ate mice, voles, rats, and she and another JRT actually killed a poor raccoon.

But this story takes the cake.

We never let her off leash when on walks because of her fierce hunting instincts. We had some other behavior problems with her so we took her to a trainer. The trainer said we should let her off leash if we were in a large open space and that Piglet needed to run and get more exercise. So we took her to a very large park near our house (we're talking miles long park)and started letting her off leash. She had a ball running around and sniffing every blade of grass and rolling in hedgehog shit.

One particular time, we lost sight of her. She had run into a thicket of trees. When we found her we could see that she was eating something. We called for her and after a few seconds she came running towards us with something white hanging out of her mouth. I thought she had killed and eaten a rabbit cause it looked like fur hanging out of her mouth from afar. The closer she got I could see that it was not fur hanging from her mouth but toilet paper. Her muzzle was covered in brown stuff. I started screaming, gagging and running away from her while my husband tried to get a hold of her to clean off her face.

Apparently, this particular thicket of trees is where the kids from the skate park, who are too lazy to go find a proper bathroom, like to take shits.

That was the smelliest ride home, and I was gagging the whole way. When we got into the house I ran into the bathroom to wash my face and hands, hoping my husband would get Piglet cleaned up. I opened the door to the most disgusting smell and scene I've ever witnessed. Piglet had vomited up the shit on our nice Persian rug and was eating it again!

I ran back into the bathroom and started screaming and vomiting. My husband was laughing hysterically.

We had to get rid of the rug and Piglet's days off leash were over.

Agatha is a poop eating machine. Not just her own poop, oh no. Any poop. Dog poop. Cat poop. Deer poop. Rabbit poop. Guinea pig poop. Turkey poop is an awesome not to be missed treat. Canadian goose poop is a sweet snack she's partaken of a few times. She found raccoon poop once, that was a total score. Horse poop from a parade made her day. Cow poop was fairly rockin, too. She's a nasty girl.

And paper towels. She just cannot resist a paper towel. Toilet paper doesn't interest her, but a plain clean square of paper towel is irresistible.

She's an odd bird, that dog.

loved grapes. Now the experts say grapes aren't a good thing for dogs. However, this was before that advice was out there. We would toss her a grape, and she would roll it around in her mouth, whenever she finally popped one she'd have a startled, but pleased look on her face. The grapes didn't kill her...she degenerative spine disease.
