My newest poem: "Garden Rain"
Clarity of
Gray clouds

The drip, drip
Fleeting raindrops

Soggy underfoot

Gravel path
To nowhere
Distant lands
Undiscovered

Will I
Walk there?

Dark shades of green
Glossy
Heavy with
The wet

But

Clivias

Glow orange

In the
Back yard
Of my
Life.

1. Kind of a haiku style, huh?
And though I've said I'm not much of a poetry reader, I did like this one :D

Reminds me of Japanese gardens...

2. My dear kentauros!
Hmmm...haiku? I've never been able to do it...I think!

Still, I appreciate your comments.

I'm glad you liked this one!

And I love the picture...thank you...

4. Awwww- Lovely! You know what's cool?
When I read this one, I could imagine it being read in your voice!

Those recordings made that possible, I actually could hear you reading the poem!

Lovely, food for the senses.

10. yeah, me too!
I could hear her reading, and the whisper of a coastal breeze off the newly wet hillside loam. :)
Nice stuff, Peggy. A perfect nightcap

6. Well done Peggy!
No need to travel when the bakyard provides that inspiration. :)

7. My dear bluesbassman!
Indeed, and it was my backyard...

I was just staring out at the garden yesterday, and this is what I saw...

Thank you, sweetie!

8. "Will I walk there?"
Sometimes we do, and regret it.

Sometimes we don't, and regret that even more.

Sometimes we make the wrong choice, but live to walk in the "backyard of our lives", more cognizant of the "orange glow" than we would otherwise have been.

Sometimes you touch my soul - and this has been one of those times.

9. My dear Nance...
I do not consider a poetry thread of mine complete until you have posted in it...

Oh, I will walk there...

And with joy!

I am so honored to have touched your soul...

And you always touch mine.

Thank you.

12. I'm glad I saw this by looking at your journal
It's a little sad to me (as if my poems aren't dark ;-)), but I loved the final touch. You're thinking a lot about life lately, I can tell.

14. My dear Haole Girl...
I'm so glad you spotted this!

I wasn't actually feeling sad when I wrote it...I was mostly trying to describe what I saw and where it took me.

The last bit just popped into my mind when I got there...

The older I get, the more I think about my life!

Thanks, sweetie...

13. Oh....Peggy...
This is what you saw as you stared outside at your garden....
So very intense....
If I could have been the poet...the words would have been my own....
So much to be read into this....I love it.

I've often said aloud...and think it far too often:
'When I look back on my life I see a cluttered path of good intentions and things left undone.'
Perhaps I've posted that line of life here before...
Forging ahead....still so many paths to be taken....or not.

Beautiful....and I also loved/relate to Nance's response....

Thank you for sharing with us....

peace~

16. here's another one about rain
I never meant 2 cause u any sorrow
I never meant 2 cause u any pain
I only wanted 2 one time see u laughing
I only wanted 2 see u laughing in the purple rain

Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain

I only wanted 2 see u bathing in the purple rain

I never wanted 2 be your weekend lover
I only wanted 2 be some kind of friend
Baby I could never steal u from another
Its such a shame our friendship had 2 end

Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain

I only wanted 2 see u underneath the purple rain

Honey I know, I know, I know times are changing
Its time we all reach out 4 something new
That means u 2
U say u want a leader
But u cant seem 2 make up your mind
I think u better close it
And let me guide u 2 the purple rain

Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain

If you know what Im singing about up here
Cmon raise your hand

Purple rain purple rain

I only want 2 see u, only want 2 see u
In the purple rain
