those of you owned by cats I have a question
I use the new Tidy cat breeze system

with the pellets and the pad.

IT is very cool. You change the pellets once a month and the pad weekly. A lot less messy (except if the dog gets to the days deposits before I do)

you scoop the deposits out, the pellets don't cling too bad

BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

this last week it smelled really bad. We have two cats, and it has never been a problem before, got me wondering if maybe one of my cats needed more water or something

have you ever experienced that?

1. Besides the fact that your cats should always
have access to lotsa water, how long have you had the system? I don't have one but have looked at it. Maybe you need to change the pellets and pads a little more frequently than recommended.

2. I think we have had it about 7 months
and I always change it on the same day. Just this week it smelled a bit more strongly than usual

I have 3 water tins and each animal gets their own...2 cats and 1 dog

It is a really cool system.

like I said, the only draw back is the dog...uggg... she apparently likes the presents the cats leave

I hate the dog, but we have had her 12 years she is my daughter's dog. Wish she would have taken it when she moved...

3. Are there instructions for

periodically taking it all apart and washing it really well? Have the cats had any change in food this week?

I refuse to buy any system that requires me to keep purchasing components for it.

4. I wash it out each month when I change the pellets
to me the convenience of just changing the pad weekly is worth it

the cost is no more than when I used the regular clump able litter...I was changing it twice a week when we acquired the 2nd cat

I just do not want people to "smell" that we have cats
