Going to Columbia MO for training tonight.... suggestions?

1. Good place for dinner is the Flatbranch

Get the Chokes and Cheese Burger (burger with their artichoke/cheese spread on it) and get a green chile beer.

That's about all I know in Columbia.

yep.... definitely going there. The plan was for each of us to pick a restaurant for dinner since we'll be there three nights, and my coworker picked.... wait for it.... OLIVE GARDEN. Nasty. So this will balance it out.

I always pick losers every time I get dragged to an Olive Garden... anyone know the least awful thing to get there?

7. Another place the locals like is Shakespeare's Pizza.

Seriously, I live in Kansas City and if they're driving out here they'll pick one up from there and bring it out cause they all worship it for some reason. I've had it a couple of times and thought it was decent but wasn't like blown away.

Oh yeah, one more place...a dinky old drive in called...um...damn...what...is...it...called... oh yeah!! Mugs Up!



It's been there since the 50's (or earlier) and has excellent root beer floats and a Zip Burger which is damn good.

Sorry about the Olive Garden. I always just get the spaghetti with Italian Sausage (which is actually pretty good, and I'm Italian by marriage so I should know). Good luck and have fun!

10. Flat Branch... EPIC WIN

Even my coworker who likes Olive Garden was impressed. She had the Philly, the other gal had the Cuban Pork, and I had a cheesburger with chokes and cheese, which I didn't think I'd like since I hate Artichokes but it was great. Wasn't up for the beer, but my coworker says it was great.

I don't even remember what I had at Olive Garden. It was chicken something...
