impact climate change has had (and continues to have) on Switzerland and other parts of the world. It's really a shame that tour companies have an opportunity to educate and very often don't seize that opportunity, and a double shame that tourists (myself included) don't ask about it. An indictment of our priorities, I guess. My personal example that you, as my husband, know only too well: last year when I slept overnight during business travel in a lodge at the foot of the Roseg Glacier and, not knowing really where I was and not asking about the nature around me, complained when I got home about how cold I had been. :(

34. The Monch isn't an "alp." It's part of the range of mountains called "the Alps."
The Alps are a range of mountains, like the Rockies or the Appalachians. One wouldn't describe a particular mountain in either of those ranges as "a Rocky" or "an Appalachia/Appalachian." To be accurate, an alp is a high pasture where (for example) cattle are led during transhumance and allowed to feed. :hi:

P.S. Not being snarky, just clarifying.
