4. It's in there.

I saw many I have played, but not another favorite. I think was called "Robot Attack" where you're basically in a big room and have to avoid the robots while you destroy them. More robots show up with each successive level.

5. Robotron!
Down at the arcade the defender is there
down off of Broadway he's there playing his games
It's very dangerous
putting money down on Robotron
Oh, I'm the Great Defender
and I really know just how to get along
Down at the arcade...

A fistful of quarters, a fifty dollar stake
life is a gamble on video tape
I called a disc jockey
to dedicate a song to Blair
It's the Temps. singing I'll be there
Down at the arcade...

The president called to give me the news
I've been awarded the Nobel Price in rhythm and blues
And Stevie Wonder
wants to record one of my songs
Oh, I'm the Great Defender
and I really know just how to get along

Oh, I'm the Great Defender, listen to my song
I really hope you like it, it isn't very long
It's rooted in the 50s
but its heart's in 1984
And if you really like it
then I sing it for you once more
Down at the arcade...

Lou Reed The Great Defender (Down At The Arcade)

10. That's the one!
That's cool that Lou Reed included it in a song. I just did a search and saw that the Beastie Boys also had a mention of it :)

I plugged a lot (or maybe a ton :P) of quarters into that one :D

7. Ah... the benefits of having a best friend who worked at the arcade
When i was 16, my best pal Jeff {who was 20} was the night-manager of the arcade down the street from my house.
I never had to worry with running out of tokens, and because my parents trusted Jeff completely, they didn't care how long i goofed around down there on nights he was working.

12. yes, having a friend at an arcade is priceless
you can either go into the system settings and set it on free play, or just open the coin mech and trip the metal lever with your finger about 50 times in a row.

either way you just guaranteed yourself free pizza at Luca's for a month if you did it for the manager :D

11. brings me back
i worked in an arcade in the mall in high school.

this was in the 90's though after a lot of these classics were gone. My fav 80's game is Galaga.

i was obscenely good at Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat, and NBA Jam.
