I highly recommend the movie "Off The Map."
Saw it last night. It's an indie film about self discovery. Pretty subtle, but a beautiful film. Has anyone here seen it?

2. That's the one
It's pretty slow moving, but it's not as depressing as it sounds. Not that it's like "The Station Agent" but if you liked that one, you'll like this.

4. I have enjoyed both Off the Map and The Station Agent a number of times.
I have many, many movies on dvd, but those are two that I will always want to watch over again and again. Both are just very nice and well-told stories.

6. I do like the sci-fi and fantasy genre, but also like others.
Ironically, in my dvd book Off the Map and The Station Agent are side by side.

Here are some others:

Serenity (along with the 13 episode Firefly series)
the Lord of the Rings trilogy
V for Vendetta
The 5th Element
K-PAX
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Hope and Glory
Sliding Doors
Kate and Leopold
Serendipity
You've Got Mail
When Harry Met Sally
Bladerunner
Michael
Angel and the Badman
Hellboy I&II
Seabiscuit
