Revenge--for the wicked only?
I was telling someone on Friday that I have a new idea for writing: revenge fantasies. I said that there are so many people, myself included, that desires that justice be served properly even to the foulest fiends.

I've always had some cool fantasies laid out, and thought it would be nice to have some of these ideas written into short stories, or even novellas or novels, and let people get the vicarious pleasure of watching the bad guys suffering on paper, even if in real life it can't be achieved (it would likely cause a lot of trouble in real life).

I got the idea when I found a DVD in the bargain bin called "Death of a President" where it's a fake documentary about GWB getting assassinated in Chicago. My pulse raced just a tiny fraction when I saw what it was about, and I took it home.

2. I don't think so. There is a reason the show "Dexter" is so popular.
I say go for it.

4. Hell, that's the plot of every action movie, ever.
They introduce the SO/child/pet/partner of the hero only to be killed, so the hero can spend the rest of the film exacting revenge, one by one, on all the little fish--and then the boss fight.

5. Check out the Korean film Old Boy
It is about several levels of revenge. Has a revenge-fueled ending you will never forget.
