Life sucks without a working laptop at home

My activity on DU will likely be curtailed somewhat until next month. My laptop is dying, piece by piece - the USB ports went out, then the speed started to drop, then the soundcard went out, and now the modem has died.

I can rise above this, but not until after payday. Waah.

I was at the Apple store; the Macbook Pro I bought went down $500 and now sports a matte rather than glossy screen too. And 8 hour battery life.

Not that I don't mind buying when I did, but $500 is a lot of savings... Microsoft will now loathe making those "Apple computers are expensive" trope too. :D (then add in ad- and crapware that tech forum zealots want removed yet arent' smart enough to realize they're installed on the windows machine to subsidize the end user's cost...)
