the small acts of kindness that are so important.

My friend and I went to the downtown farmer's market yesterday and afterward we stopped in a few shops.

This particular shop has some great organic snacks and other unique odds and ends. The shop owner was telling us how she was leaving on a much needed vacation and would be closing her shop for a week. I've been in that shop several times and have chatted with her - very nice, very personable woman. Anyway, she says that there is a point to her story, and handed us each three beautiful roses. I will enjoy those roses and will think about her and her generosity, her kindness.
