Is Early Times whiskey any good?
It's on sale for $16 for 1.75L and I could use the savings.

1. ya get what u pay 4
It ain't real smooth, but the aftertaste dissipates faster than some of the other bottom shelf brands. If u got zip for taste buds, drink like self...straight up, or on rocks. Use real rocks, ice will explode.

ps..makze sure to get the zumber for your lobal 911 while still cavable of mememberin za numser :toast:

2. It's "Kentucky Whisky" rather than a true bourbon
since 30% of the juice is aged in used barrels (bourbon must be aged exclusively in new, charred, white oak barrels.) It's not great but not bad, but Evan Williams Black is better for a teense more. My favorite cheap bourbon presently is Old Grand-Dad Bottled In Bond (Bonded), 100 proof. $14.99 for a 750, and it's robust and delicious. It actually burns less when sipped neat than Early Times despite the latter being 80 proof. EW black is about the same money around here as Early Times, and IMHO surpasses it handily.

Old Grand-Dad Bonded is an elemental bourbon...not very complex, but it has the basics of bourbon flavor well covered and is tasty neat and mixes well, too. I'll reach for that if I'm not flush enough to get the Wild Turkey 101, my favorite all-round general-purpose bourbon.

3. No ...

... but I'm a whiskey snob.

It's a decent mixing whiskey.

If you drink it straight, I guess whether it is any good depends on what you're accustomed to.

Generically speaking, it's a mid-tier whiskey, similar to Evan Williams, Jim Beam, etc.
