2. Wow. I loved him best in Sense and Sensibility. I kept yelling at Kate Winslet to ditch Willoughby
that doughy, dopey Willoughby and his wayward ways -- for the wonderfully intense (and rich!) and intelligent and cultured and in crazy-love-with-her Colonel Brandon! Finally, towards the end of the film, Kate's character Marianne seemed to hear me and, dear reader, she went with him... (oops, spoiler!)
24. You MUST see this version at once! Alan plays the role brilliantly, and Kate and Emma
are so lovely in their roles. And Emma adated the screenplay and won herself an Oscar for her adaptation! I think it was a splendid film and I tend to be choosy as far as the Austen film adaptations are concerned (I much prefer the BBC Pride and Prejudice over the Keira Knightley film version).
But this film is an absolute must for a Rickman fan!
