Jon Stewart just skewered the SHIT out of *
They played that clip where * said of Kerry -- "If you make accusations in public, when running for president, you better have the facts to back it up" (or something like that).

Jon shook his head, and like "Wait a minute!!" "This is GOLD"

He then played a clip of * in front of Congress saying, "Saddam Hussein has Weapons of Mass Destruction......."

I fell out of my chair laughing so hard!!!

2. That * press conference was in itself hysterical
He's such an asshat. He tries to pass off facts as opinions, regardless of how obvious they are. He's like Peggy Hill, only without the charm. And that's saying something.

3. This is exactly the kind of thing
which will destroy Bush. How can you attack someone when you have absolutely NO credibility? Stewart shows Bush for the fool better than anyone else. It's because he's not mean. He's not partisan. But he destroys. And Bush is toast. As Jon reminded us, we have 8 more months of this. Bush can't sustain any scrutiny. It's over. Rove overplayed his hand.

19. He almost had me going,
until he started on that whole "market regulates itself" bullshit.

Microsoft might have gotten big in the first place by giving people the software they wanted (at a time when only a handful of losers huddled in college basements could tell good software from bad), but since then they've stayed big by intimidating their customers and ruthlessly destroying their competitors. Their products are almost entirely crap, and their support is terrible, but they've still on top of the mountain because Bill Gates is toting a sniper rifle and picking off anybody who approaches the foothills.

I'm a firm believer in heavy market regulation; it's one of the few areas where we actually need a big government. Left to its own devices, a free market has the potential to run itself to the benefit of all, but thanks to the selfishness inherent in human nature, it's much more likely to end up turning into a corrupt mess whose only real function is to enrich a few obscenely wealthy people at the expense of everyone else. To keep the market from collapsing on itself, and to make sure everyone gets a piece of the pie, we need sensible regulations in place, strictly enforced by a government that we can trust to protect our best interests.

11. A large % of young adults get their news from The Daily Show
"A poll released earlier this year by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press found that 21 percent of people aged 18 to 29 cited "The Daily Show" and "Saturday Night Live" as a place where they regularly learned presidential campaign news.

By contrast, 23 percent of the young people mentioned ABC, CBS or NBC's nightly news broadcasts as a source.

Even more startling is the change from just four years ago. When the same question was asked in 2000, Pew found only 9 percent of young people pointing to the comedy shows and 39 percent to the network news shows.

12. Well, that's good for us now
that Stewart and Tina Fey (yeah, she's soooo foxy!) are handling things, but I don't know if that bodes well for our society as a whole.

14. Why not? There's more honesty couched in humor to be found
on TDS and SNL than there is truth to be found on cable and the networks masquerading as in-depth reporting.

I hate to tell the networks and the "serious" cable networks this, but they are becoming quite irrelevant. I give them another 3-4 years, tops.

21. Whenever I watch..
I thank the Lord that Jon and Tina are on our side. Really.. my fellow 20-somethings who watch 'The Daily Show' and SNL could add-up to the votes that decide the election. Bush will be skewered by his own words, while Kerry (whose career has been less-profile before this campaign) will get more of a free pass.

If the worst that they can come-up with is the jock strap issue (lol!), we're in good shape here.

18. Funny I always saw Stossel
as a caricature. Sort of a mock on conservatives. Notice his tone of voice. Kind of like the show saying "Look at who the real snobs are, it isn't the liberals".
