You'll be so utterly sorry, you won't be able to live with yourself.

Good movies come out so rarely you should go see them when they appear. And this is not only a good movie, it's a great one, and it has great acting. All around genius and wonderful cast.

And Shirley Maclaine, of course, is a goddess (no reincarnation pun intended) of acting, so she's fucking perfect.

Go see it. Enjoy it. And be reminded of what can happen when artists are allowed to make something without a lot of talentless artless uncreative producer fucks getting in the way.

on edit: never mind, apparently this was a made for TV movie for Lifetime, and done in 2008. I just saw it at a theater, so assumed it was current theatrical release. But the theater is in a foreign country, so, well, there you go.

5. A fun MacLaine movie is "What a Way to Go" about a woman who keeps marrying
men who rise to the height of success, which kills them. It's a comedy, and one of my favorite bits is Paul Newman as an avant-garde artist. It's fluff, but fun fluff.

6. Yeah, that is a very cool one...
They put her in some really far-out "fashions" in that, but some of the swimsuits and such were really wow.

Shirley MacLaine? Hot? What a concept.

When she was first on the scene, Ann Magnuson was a dead-ringer for a young Shirley MacLaine, and I thought Hollywood really missed out not having her shoot the Shirley bio-pic or maybe some sort of "Age shifting" thing that they so love to do with the two of them.
