I've lost 91 pounds (pics)

Here I am last Christmas at 289. I'm the big guy in the bibs.




Here I am as of last week at 198. Pardon the disheveled look. I had just hiked 2 miles through the woods.



It's the first time I've been under 200 pounds since I was 19- 17 years ago. I'm going to lose another 15 pounds or so and then start maintenance.

10. A couple of things in general

Stay away from refined carbs. Eat whole grain bread, pasta, cereal, and rice. Also wacth out for the sugar in grain products. Try to get the stuff that's 5 grams of sugar per serving or less. I've cut out the sugar almost completely. I also eat a diet that's low in fat and has lots of veggies. Eat lean meat and try to stay away from red meat. Youare going to have to restrict calories as well. I eat about 1500 a day, but I don't really get hungry because I eat five small meals a day.

That's what I've been doing. It might not work as well for you. I was given the diet based on my metabolic type by a weight loss clinic. The one thing that is constant with all of the diets they give everyone regardless of metabolic type is the stuff about whole grains and low sugar.

What inspired it, may I ask?

15. I felt bad and my lifestyle was starting to affect my health in a bad way

And I also didn't like the way I looked, of course. My health was my main concern. My cholesterol and triglycerides were high and my blood pressure was borderline high. That's all in the past now, though. I recently got blood work done again and my cholesterol and triglycerides were back within healthy range. My resting pulse rste had fallen from 90 beats a minute to 68 and my blood pressure was back within healthy range.

There has also been a certain amount of vanity involved I will admit. I would see videos and pictures of myself back then and cringe.

man, i hated being heavy.

been active for many years, but ate too much when i got my feeling hurt a couple years ago.

then the inertia set in. finally back out on my bike every and eating right this spring. it's way groovy.
