14. It was 103° here, near Sacramento, Calif. this afternoon.
now it's 87° and feeling pretty cool! Last night it went down to 63° during the night, so we slept with the windows open.

16. I lived in Palm Springs for quite a while... I sympathize

And really, I prefer that kind of heat to southeastern humidity. I just happen to be in the Smoky Mtns right now where it's remarkably cool and non-humid (certainly not dry, but not humid).

Edited: Now it's dipped to 57. I'm wearing a sweatshirt.

8. It depends on what you mean by distinct.

The colder days during the winter hover around 50-65 for the high. At night it has dropped into the teens. But most of the time it stays in the 30's and 40's

We don't get snow. It snowed once in Scottsdale about 2 years ago for 15 minutes. It melted as soon as it his the ground.

We have a Monsoon season from June To August. We get the majority of our rain during that time. We also get a few showers during January.

Fall is the nicest time of the year. Mid 70s and plenty of sunshine.

be quite unhappy in that kind of heat.

9. 2 or 3 hour drive and you are in the Mountains
In Tucson it can be in the 80's at the pool and you can drive 90 minutes and go skiing on Mt Lemmon (if it gets snow - not guaranteed skiing every year.

10. You kind of get use to it. I ran cross country and cycle long distance.
After multiple summers of running in 110 degrees, I've become somewhat immune. I just have to drink a ton of water.

24. One-word answer: earthquakes
Spent some time in Eureka after the folks retired there. Gorgeous area, year 'round, absolutely. But I rather freak out with earthquakes, and found it a bit unnerving that the newspaper carried a daily quake report the way other papers report on the weather. We finally moved the parents out of the area about 10 years ago, and it's only been the last couple of years that Mom doesn't jump out of her skin at loud noises.

20. here's a tip I've found
Get a hand towel wet. Wring it out and then put it under your feet if you are sitting. Honestly, it will make you feel so VERY MUCH cooler. It really works.

22. Cold washcloth or hand towel around the back of the neck also helps.
I do that after I've been mowing the lawn, and it helps cool me down quicker.

Like the towel under the feet idea too.
