No sleep for me tonight..my SO (Crazy4sea) is on a ship that just caught fire

No sleep for me tonight..my SO (Crazy4sea) is on a ship that just caught fire


It's a former Naval vessel converted to a hopper dredge. She's an endangered marine mammal observer on board.

She said there was a fire in the pump house generator and it was put out, but the fire control operates from the same generator that caught fire. All of the crew is ok and waiting to be towed back to the docks. The dredge arm is down and it will be morning before they can begin being moved.

4. *Update* and Good News
the dredge's pump house and main generator is fried, but aside from a lot of smoke and a little panic, everything is groovy.

The good news is that she is getting 5-7 days off while they assess the situation and/or bring in another boat. So SHE'S COMING HOME FOR THE WEEKEND.
