I was lost in paradise for the last week... what did I miss?
Edited on Sun Mar-14-04 10:11 PM by neoteric lefty
well, I wasn't lost in the sense that I didn't where I was. I kinda left the real world for a week and went down to the Keys (Florida Keys for you northerners) for good ol' Spring Break. No job, no school, no TV, no computer, no girlfriend (but don't tell her that). I was at a total disconnect from the "goings on" of the country and the world. My days consisted of either sitting around my buddy's ocean-front getaway drinking margaritas and listening to Jimmy Buffett, or going down to Key West beach, laying in the sun, drinking margaritas and listening to Jimmy Buffett. Everyday had perfect skies and warm weather. I was truly lost from the world for a week and it couldn't have been any better of a feeling than when I was down there.

Now that I have returned, I have read about the Madrid blasts and some other things that happened since last weekend and it was kind of a jolt back into the real world. I am not sad to be back at all. I am just feeling a bit weird. I actually feel a little lost right now. Assuredly, this will pass and life will go on. But that was a hell of a week. At least my skin is now at least 8 shades darker than when I left.

SO, what happened around here this week?

1. Sure as hell wasn't listening to that Jimmy Buffet Dogshit
Mabye If I were a 50-year old divorced woman. Nah. I would have better taste than that.

Ambient Wall-Mart music.

2. wow
you have some serious hostility towards that man's music. I don't listen to it that much here, but it just fits so well on the beach. Maybe you should give it a whirl sometime. It maybe a bit hokey but it sure is a good listen when you are in the right setting.

3. Hmmmm. I like Susie Buffet; does that count?
Don't recall ever coming across Jimmy, though.
I did go to school with Rex Allen Jr. Is he good beach music? His dad used to do narrations for Disney nature flicks.

4. I guess I'm just upset that he had sex with my mother
And that I'm his son.
