Fireworks are in a pitiful state this season.
The firework stands are, predictably, doing poorly with the lack of disposable income.

Many states now outlaw most of the fun fireworks, fireworks that make noise, fireworks that shoot into the air, fireworks that explode, fireworks that make fire and work, etc.

The last public "professional" show I went to was set to tinny Lee Greenwood and was filled with miscues and a massive WTF from the audience when they failed to deliver a finale.

It used to be for a few bucks and case of cheap beer you could have a lot of fun this time of year by blowing up a small portion of the country, just like Jesus and Abe Washington intended.

Sigh.

1. And now that Obama is going to take our guns away, we can't even shoot bullets
into the air like we used to. Flippin' country, I'm moving to Honduras... </freeper>
